Making stops in the UK, Belgium, Hong Kong, China, and New Zealand, the Ocean Film Festival World Tour will arrive in Australia this autumn with over two hours of inspirational and educational footage for both filmmakers and ocean-lovers alike. The films will cover topics such as ocean exploration, oceanic environment, marine creatures, ocean-related sports, coastal cultures and lots more, all in a bid to promote the wonders of the ocean and the importance of conservation.

It’s a treat for both parents and kids alike, which follows the story of a mouse as he cons his way to safety from a sundry of menacing animals, before coming across the monstrous gruffalo!
The book itself has sold more than 13-million copies worldwide, and was even adapted into a short animated film in 2009. This autumn, the well-received stage production of The Gruffalo by Tall Stories returns to Australia, with three unmissable showings coming to Home of the Arts in Surfers Paradise. The Sapphires comes to Home of the Arts this March with a brand new country music twist! A powerful story that’s been told time and time again, The Sapphires deals with themes of race, identity and human rights, as it follows four indigenous Australian women that form a music group and all the problems they come across along the way.
Written by Tony Briggs, The Sapphires has been performed on stages all over the country, and in 2012, was adapted into film, winning a multitude of AACTA Awards including “Best Film”, “Best Adapted Screenplay” and more. This autumn, The Sapphires comes to Home of the Arts, and for those that are yet to witness the incredible story, it’s a must-see on March 15 and March 16.
GC Laughs Festival
Enjoy belly-aching laughter with GC Laughs Festival, hosting its inaugural event this March! Jam-packed with a lineup of world-class national and international comedians, Home of the Arts in Surfers Paradise is going to be loud with laughter for one whole week, as GC Laughs Festival brings a daily schedule featuring some of the biggest names in comedy.
Confirmed acts include UK’s Ross Noble as well as Australian comics Rhys Nicholson, Catherine Alcorn, Nazeem Hussain, Becky Lucas, Helen Bidou and more, such as the hilarious Shit-Faced Shakespeare - performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream!

The Flying Fruit Fly Circus return to the Gold Coast with their highly received stage performance JUNK, which sees them turn an ordinary junkyard into a playground for physics-defying acrobatics! Featuring the youngest circus performers in Australia, JUNK is a heart-pumping show from start to finish that will dazzle and inspire with its mastery of inventiveness and imagination.
